How to Choose a Provider

Start with your deal, not the provider. List who needs access and what each party should see.

Questions

Which data rooms does Datasite own?
Datasite and Firmex both announced that Datasite acquired Firmex in 2021. Firmex still sells under its own name. Datasite has also bought Sherpany, a board reporting company, and Grata, a market intelligence company. Neither Datasite's nor Ansarada's pages say who owns Ansarada, so this page doesn't say.
Who owns Intralinks?
SS&C Technologies acquired Intralinks in 2018, according to SS&C's own timeline. Intralinks' pages describe it as part of SS&C Technologies. Its corporate headquarters are in Waltham, Massachusetts. It sells two deal products: VDRPro, a virtual data room, and DealCentre AI, a platform for the whole deal.
Do virtual data room providers publish their prices?
Some do. Of the nine providers here, Ansarada and CapLinked publish prices. Ansarada's price sheets start at US$99 a month, and CapLinked's Team plan is $399 a month. The others give prices by quote. Ask for a written quote that covers the whole deal.
Which virtual data room provider is the most popular?
We know of no independent, public market-share figures for virtual data rooms. Some popularity rankings online are published by providers themselves. Intralinks publishes one, and DiligensHub publishes this page. Choose by your deal instead: who needs access, what each party should see, and how documents get reviewed.
How do I choose a virtual data room provider?
Start with the deal. List who needs access and what each party should see. Then shortlist rooms that set access per party, log every view and run Q&A. Compare how each one is priced. Test each one with a real folder before you choose.
